India's jewels are not just the palaces, temples, and bazaars but also its rich wild life which define her exotic past. On this wildlife photo tour, you will visit two of India’s premiere wildlife parks – Kanha National Park and Bandavgarh National Park in Madhya Pradesh. We spend seven days in these parks exploring photographing wildlife, including the elusive Tiger in private 4-wheel drive vehicles and on elephant back. We end the trip with visits to World Heritage sites of Khajuraho temples and the ancient city of Varanasi by the banks of the Holy River Ganga.

Myanmar (Burma of late) is a'must' on any photographer's bucket-list. From the shimering pagodas in Yangon to the fields of pagodas in Bagan to the leg-rower fishermen of Inle Lake, Burma will conjur up images that your minds eye will forever rememeber, while your camera tries to capture the moment. But thats not all, form Burma we fly to Cambodia to photograph the World Heritage site at Angkor Wat.

To Everest's South Base Camp

Himalaya – the name says it all.  Straddling the border between Tibet and its southerly neighbor, the Kingdom of Nepal, the world’s tallest mountains soar to the heavens, seemingly piercing the unimaginably blue Tibetan skies.  For the peoples of the Himalayan kingdoms, these mountains are sacred; for on their lofty heights dwell the gods and goddesses of the Indic religious traditions of Hinduism, Jainism, and Buddhism. 

On this exciting trek to Everest’s South Face, we start by taking the breathtaking mountain flight to Lukla from Kathmandu. We then undertake an eleven day trek in Khumbu, land of the Sherpa, to view Everest’s majestic south face.

From Lhasa to Kathmandu via
Everest's North Base Camp

On the Roof of the World. Locked away for centuries, Tibet has always held a unique place in the human imagination, conjuring an unearthly realm beyond our reach. We begin our photography journey of Tibet with four wonderful days in the magical environs of Lhasa, the Tibetan capital, its skyline dominated by the majestic ramparts of the Potala Palace.

Leaving Lhasa we photograph the turquoise waters of Yamdruk Lake on our way to Gyantse to explore the Kumbum chörten. Continuing via Shigatse and the monastery at Tashilhunpo (home of the Panchen Lamas) we reach the North face of Everest in time to see the setting sun light up the mountain. We will spend the full moon night at the base of Everest before ending our tour in the colorful bustle of Kathmandu.

Bhutan is an immensely beautiful and serene land, and is a place where the Buddhist faith of its people remains the nation’s most vital cultural force. The Bhutanese joyously express their fervent faith during their festivals; in particular, the annual Tangbi Mani is one of Bhutan's most preeminent Buddhist festivals.

The Bumthang Valley is considered one of the most beautiful valley locales in Bhutan. People from all over the country gather at Tangbi to pay their respect and in turn be blessed at the Mani festival. Dressed in their finest clothes and jewelry, Bhutanese people attend the Tangbi celebration of purification and religious blessings. Arrays of colorful brocades whirl through the air as the dancers spin and dance the “thunderbolt step.” Masks of glorious demonic demons and animals arouse your senses as you watch the purification take place.

Featuring the Kandy Perahera Festival

Formerly known as Ceylon, this small island nation to the south of India is 70% Buddhist. Amidst its World Heritage sites, there is a carnival-like atmosphere to everyday life in Sri Lanka.  Spectacles abound.  Fabulously painted elephants lumber along beside brass bands and boys on stilts.  With a Carnival like feel, the Kandy Esala Perahera Festival (the Festival of the Tooth Relic) is one of Asia’s most remarkable spectacles.  The pageant features a variety of dancers in elaborate costumes representing different ethnic groups of Sri Lanka, and lavishly outfitted elephants.
