With our adventurous spirit, we are therefore pleased to announce the launch of "Destination Andes."

Perú is an amazingly diverse land, with a quixotic blend of ethnicities, cultures, cuisines and geographies. From the low-lying jungles of the Amazon basin to the towering Andes, from the cosmopolitan nightlife of Lima to the barren plains of Nazca, Perú has something to offer to suit every traveler’s taste. For our initial trip offerings in Perú, we are joining with Mountain Lodges of Perú, with whom we will transport our traveling clientele to the ethereal ancient Inca city of Machu Picchu via the Salkantay Trail, a wonderful alternative to the over-crowded Inca trail. Begin your journey in Cusco, a wonderfully scenic and beautiful old city. Surrounded by mountains on all sides, Cusco is the old capital of the once mighty Inca Empire, who ruled their extensive Andean kingdom from this site before the European incursion. Cusco still retains the vibrant spirit of the Quechua people, the modern descendants of the Inca, all the while integrating Spanish colonial influences throughout. Cusco is the “jumping off” point for expeditions to Machu Picchu. From the base of the majestic Salkantay peak, accompanied along the trail by locals who use the route in their day-to-day lives, you trek under the purest of azure skies, the mighty Andean condor circling overhead, as you make your way to Machu Picchu. As it has done since its reclamation from the jungle by Hiram Bingham in the early 20th Century, Machu Picchu never fails to impress – it unequivocally deserves its place on the list of the “new” Seven Wonders of the World.
