Health and Travel Insurance

Please check with your medical insurance company to see if you are covered overseas.  The group medical and evacuation coverage provided by Destination Himalaya is as follows:

$1500: Trip/Travel Delay
Reimburses you up to $150 a day for additional accommodations or travel expenses if you are delayed for more than 12 hours.

$750: Lost, Stolen, or Damaged Baggage & Travel Documents
Reimburses you if your luggage is lost, damaged, or stolen while you are on your trip (limit is $500 towards jewelry, watches and camera equipment).

$250: Baggage Delay
Reimburses you for the purchase of essential items if your bags are delayed for more than 24 hours.

$25,000: Medical Expenses
Covers necessary medical expenses up to one year after the sickness or injury, provided you sought initial medical treatment while on your trip (this is secondary to your primary medical insurance).

$500,000: Emergency Medical Transportation
Covers evacuation and transportation to the nearest adequate medical facility.

This insurance is provided through “Travel Guard Group Protection Plan,” and is automatically initiated when your deposit for the trip is received.

Not Included but highly recommended:

Trip Cancellation or Trip Interruption
Reimburses you for all pre-paid, non-refundable expenses if you cancel your trip or interrupt your trip for the following covered reasons:

• Sickness, accidental injury to you, your traveling companion, member of family or business partner.
  A physician must advice cancellation of the trip. 
• Or a terrorist attack, strike or natural disaster occurs in any of the cities on your travel itinerary.
